Chris’s vast experience is testament to his success as a much respected IT Consultant & Microsoft Small Business Specialist.  He is well known for providing a professional, personal service that you don’t get with many IT providers, and, for going that extra mile to ensure business owners who choose him to manage their IT networks are always reassured by his high level of competence. Having worked with many big names such as Vauxhall Motor Company, Ford Motor Company, Hallmark Cards, Gerber Foods, Nichimen Europe, GKN, Hertfordshire Police, Tupperware to name but a few, Chris has gained a wealth of business acumen and transferable skills to complement his extensive IT expertise.

Where It All Began:

Chris started out designing software for automated production lines in the car industry and progressed from developing production management systems to network design information systems.   He spotted the potential in taking these skills and applying them to small to medium size businesses, combining his passion for generating solutions, solving problems and automating processes so that business owners can focus on running their business and not dealing with continuous IT issues.

Essential Business Technologies was borne out of Chris’ desire to deliver advanced computer services and support through a managed services model for business owners either not wanting full time internal IT staff or to complement their existing IT staff. 

During EBT’s 20 years’ of trading, Chris has developed long-term business relationships with many of the leading IT product and service companies to ensure that he delivers only the best solutions, services and products available on the market.   He regularly attends training courses and seminars in the UK, Europe and USA to ensure he is up to date with the latest technologies, innovations and business activities.

Chris holds many accreditations and certifications within the IT industry with leaders such as Microsoft and SonicWall.  Back in 1992 during his first year of trading, he was awarded runner-up as Young Business Entrepreneur of the Year by the Prince’s Youth Business Trust.

In his spare-time Chris, who has recently married, enjoys cooking, cycling, golf and squash, and can occasionally be heard playing the saxophone!
