.....do they drive you MAD?
I've only just recently discovered 'MAD' - the Microsoft Abbreviation Dictionary cleverly put together by Julie Simpson, MD of ResourceIT Consulting Ltd. It's been around for quite a few years now and I came across it recently when looking up an acronym..............interesting though because the acronym I was looking for wasn't actually listed! However, I sourced the answer from my super knowledgeable colleague and I submitted my contribution to MAD online and hey presto, it now appears!
The dictionary is actually very comprehensive but there is certainly room to add more and now whenever I come across one of Microsoft's jumble of letters (or any other 'techi acronym's) that I'm not so sure about, I head straight to the online MAD webpage and if the answer is there.............brilliant! If not, I turn to my colleague (who is trying not to show his annoyance at my constant pestering "what does MSMQ stand for?", "what does SBS stand for?", "what does EBT stand for?, oh wait, that's us, doh!!"
A brilliant resource that should definitely be shared around ......TTFN! |
